At the moment, there isn’t one universal set of carry-on size rules. While you’ll often see 22" x 14" x 8" quoted as a general guideline, each airline sets its own limits – and how strictly those limits are enforced can vary too.

Things like the airline, aircraft type, route (domestic vs international) and even your ticket type can all make a difference.

Despite what you may have seen online, there’s also no confirmed global rule coming into force on February 1 that standardises carry-on sizes across all airlines.
